Juniperus Communis(t)

That´s the first "communis(t)" in my collection ... who would have thought!?

Joking aside ;-) I collected this piece end of March and wasn´t able to decide if I should take it or not. There are so many horror stories to read about this species on internet, that I have always felt a dislike to it. Apart from that ... it´s not a masterpiece like many other juniper yamadoris. But anyway, it has something!

However - I dug it out, planted the juniper into pure grit and placed some sphagnum moss on the surface. Next to that, I watered the tree with "Orus" and covered everything with a transparent foil. Due to the very warm weather I decided to put it into the shady garage.

Today (almost 3 weeks after collection) I was very glad to see such a strong budding! I hope it stays that way!
On top of this, it´s a very precious yamadori for me. Everyone knows that communis junipers are very rare to see on bonsai exhibitions.
