Monkeys in Auer Othmar´s garden

Last weekend we went to Neustift (Südtirol) to meet Auer Othmar. He was quite busy on that day, because he was leading a workshop about kusamono (grasbonsai). We were happy that he took time for us during the lunchhour. It was very interesting to discuss about his personal view in matter of bonsai and some other things.

I think, as nice it may be to have such a huge garden full of 1st class bonsai and certainly raw-material - as hard it may be to find a little bit spare time for yourself. Othmar told us, his last vacation had been 10 years ago and that he´s leading workshops almost every weekend a year. When his students have their lunchhour, he´s spending his time by watering the big nunmber of trees. Yes, that`s absolutely a full time job.

I admire his attitude and endurance!
